Ghalixy Messages privacy policy

Last updated 1 November 2026. This describes the first release, which has texts and Telegram. It will change as networks are added, and we will update this page first.

Who we are

Ghalixy, an engineering studio in Toronto, Ontario. Contact: admin@ghalixy.com.

What stays on your phone

Your texts remain in Android's own message store, where every texting app on your phone sees them. For other networks the app holds the login session you create when you link an account. It is stored encrypted, with a key kept in Android's secure hardware-backed store. Ghalixy never receives it. Messages are not copied to Google's cloud backup or to another device.

What leaves your phone

Texts you send go to your mobile carrier, as with any texting app.
For each network you link (for example Telegram), the app connects straight from your phone to that network. That network's own privacy policy applies to what it receives.
Nothing goes to Ghalixy. The app has no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and no crash reporting.

Permissions

The app asks to be your default texting app (to read, send and receive texts), for access to your contacts so names show instead of numbers (optional), for notifications, and for internet access to reach the networks you link.

This website

It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other sites. If you email us to be told about the launch, we keep your address only for that.

Ghalixy Secure (coming)

When it launches, the relay will hold encrypted messages that it cannot read until they are delivered, and will know which accounts talk to each other and when. We will describe it here before it goes live.

Your rights and contact

You can delete the app and its data at any time; removing an account in the app deletes its stored session. For any question or request about your data, write to admin@ghalixy.com.
